danske-logoGlenavon will be looking to put the disappointment of crashing out of the JBE League Cup on penalties to Annagh United on Tuesday night behind them and build on the excellent league win against Coleraine last Saturday.

As Gary Hamilton and his squad travel to the Belfast Loughshore Hotel Arena (Taylors Avenue) for the first game at the home of Carrick Rangers in many years, he’ll be looking for the positive attitude, hard work and commitment that has seen the team win three and draw one of it’s six opening league games.

“Obviously we want to bounce back from Tuesday night. As a top six side we really should be beating teams in the league below us” Gary told us. “I thought we played well in the first half but in the second half the tempo was too slow and we didn’t attack enough. We can’t just stroll around thinking the game’s won as any team can hurt you from set pieces, as we found. When we get in front I want us to keep attacking and score more, not sit back and try to just protect the lead.

“Hopefully we can go down there and play the way we have been doing in the league so far and earn the three points.”

Apart from Dave Elebert who had to pull out of Tuesday’s game with a tight calf muscle, Gary has no new injury concerns ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Carrickfergus.
