There’s a real party atmosphere at Seaview today as Crusaders prepare to lift the Gibson Cup after the game.

There was less than 2 minutes on the clock when Declan Caddell nipped in to tuck away a corner.

Paul Heatley made it 2-0 in the 11th minute when he broke clear and rounded James McGrath before slotting the ball into the empty net, though he almost tripped over the ball he managed to regain his balance in time.

Glenavon have rarely threatened Sean O’Neill’s goal in the first half and Crusaders have had the ball in the net twice only to be ruled out for offside. Billy Joe Burns was unlucky when he found himself clear in the Glenavon box in the 30th minute but his shot hit the base of the post.

Burns did get his goal in the second half and Heatley made it four in the last minute after Ciaran Caldwell had hit the bar and was twice denied by great saves by O’Neill.
