Gary Hamilton has concluded a hard day of negotiations on the final day of the transfer window by completing the signing of Glentoran striker Matthew Burrows. “On Saturday we ended up finishing the game with young Mitchell up front and Tony Grant finishing the game and Tony will admit himself that sometimes he can only play 70-75 minutes. When I looked at the bench on Saturday there was no real goals on it and I’ll be out for 3 or 4 weeks so I’m delighted to get Matty in as he’s a proven goal scorer. He’s done it more times than enough and he’s come on and saved games for Glentoran. He’s looking for first team football and he wants to prove people at Glentoran wrong and hopefully he’ll give us another dimension If he impresses he’ll get the same opportunity at Glenavon as everyone else.”
Matty has signed a short-term contract until the end of this season.
