Preview: Glenavon v Coleraine

Mourneview Park welcomes the visit of a Coleraine side which is in sparkling form at the moment, none less than the Club’s ace marksman Rory Patterson who scored his 27th goal of the season in Tuesday night’s Co-operative Insurance Cup Semifinal win over Dungannon Swifts. Marty Quinn quipped that he might don the boots himself to try to keep Patterson quiet but he realizes that the Bannsiders are far from a one-man team “They’re a very good side with quality all over the park so it’s not all about Patterson and we’ll need to cut off the supply to him.

“We beat them earlier in the season at Mourneview and I feel there’s no reason we can’t do it again tomorrow. We want to build on our result from Tuesday and get another run going but we know we’ll have to work very hard and be on top of our game.

Marty completed the signing of Rory Hamill last night but the experienced striker will be playing for the Reserves tomorrow, “Rory is fit but he’s not match fit as he hasn’t played a game in several months so I’ll be giving him a couple of games to build up his match fitness before he makes his début with the First team.

“I know Rory well from his time with me at Coleraine when he picked up an Irish Cup winner’s medal and a loser’s medal from the two Finals he appeared in. He’s signed until the end of the season but I think we can re-vitalise his career here.”
