A run of three sequential numbers for the third week in a row sees only one player scoring a ‘Match 3′ prize this week and the Jackpot for next week’s draw, on Monday 8th February, rises to £1900.
Tuesday night’s re-arranged Carling Premiership tie with Newry City sees the first game under the new Mourneview Park floodlighting system which has been upgraded under the FIFA ‘Goal’ Programme with the support of the Irish Football Association. IFA Chief Executive Patrick Nelson will officially switch on the new floodlights at 7:30 pm, ahead of the game which will kick off at 7:45 pm. David McVeigh, the IFA’s Facilities Manager, will also be in attendance. Glenavon Floodlights Press Release (PDF)
Marty Quinn had his squad training under the new lights this evening and he is impressed, “They’re excellent. We had a good training session and everyone realizes how important tomorrow night’s game is. We’re not reading anything into Newry’s 5-0 defeat on Saturday as I’m told they played quite well up until the latter stages and were well in the game before that. There’s a gap starting to appear between the top six and the rest so we need to put a run together and try to close it, hopefully starting with a win tomorrow night.”
