Weather permitting, the annual Boxing Day derby between Glenavon and Portadown returns on Saturday. The weather conditions prevented Glenavon from training last night with the players asked to train in their local gyms.
Eamon Murray (foot) and Conor Walsh (knee) are injury concerns for Marty Quinn and he will be checking on their progress tomorrow. “We missed those two when they had to go off last Saturday” was Marty’s view as he looked ahead to the game with Portadown. “It’s so important for us to get back to winning ways and give the supporters something to cheer about and there is no better game to bounce back in. We let ourselves down in the last game at Shamrock Park so I’ll be looking for a big improvement from the players.”
