The opening goal in this friendly with Ladbrokes.com Championship 1 side Coagh United came from the spot after Tony Grant was felled in the area. Trevor Molloy scored with an emphatic finish from the spot past Tuda Murphy who kept goal for the visitors in the first half.

Conor Walsh glanced in Stuart King’s cross at the back post to make it 2-0 just before half time.

Marty Quinn made seven changes at half time and one of those subs, Gary Liggett, made it 3-0 ten minutes into the second half when he drove home fellow sub Shea Campbell’s cross from 10 yards. Liggett grabbed his second of the game to make it 4-0 after he ran onto a through ball and rounded the keeper before slotting into the empty net just after the hour.

Shea Campbell made it 5-0 in the 65th minute when he was on hand at the back post to nod in Tony Grant’s cross after a good cut-back from Mark Turkington.

Scott McCordick scored for the visitors three minutes from time when he dinked the ball over Murphy (now playing for Glenavon) after the home defence failed to deal with Stuart Lamont’s low cross.

Glenavon Club Captain Hugh Dickson played 75 minutes in his first team comeback from a fractured skull and he looked assured and confident as he partnered Jay Magee at the back.
